Brandon Edward Mary was born and raised in New Orleans,
Louisiana. After graduating from De La Salle High School in
1984, Brandon began his studies at Southern Methodist University
in Dallas, Texas, concentrating in pre-medicine. After several
years, Brandon decided he more favored the pursuit of law and
returned to New Orleans to attend, and graduate in 1988, from
Loyola University.
Following graduation, Brandon attended The Catholic University
of America, Columbus School of Law, in Washington, D.C. During
his time in Washington, Brandon was active in the community,
providing supervised legal and tax advice to under privileged
citizens. He was also active in the Moot Court Association, as
well as the Law Review, on which he served as a Staff Member,
and then later as an Associate Editor. Brandon was published in
Catholic University Law Review, Vol 40, No. 3, Spring, 1991,
authoring “James v. Illinois – The Impeachment Exception to the
Exclusionary Rule: Here Today . . . .”
During Brandon’s law school career, he clerked for the United
States Department of Justice in Washington, D.C. in the Civil
Rights Division. In 1990, during summer break from law school,
Brandon was selected to clerk for the Honorable Frank A. Marullo,
Judge, Criminal District Court for the Parish of Orleans, State
of Louisiana. In 1991, Brandon clerked for Lemle & Kelleher,
L.L.P. in New Orleans, where he would later begin his legal
practice.
Brandon graduated honorably in the top 11% of his law school
class in 1992, and he then returned to New Orleans to join Lemle
& Kelleher, where he excelled in a diverse practice of civil
litigation, including personal injury defense, maritime,
contractual matters, commercial transactions, insurance coverage
disputes and mediation. In 1998, Lemle & Kelleher elevated
Brandon to Partner, where he continued in his practice with the
firm. Brandon was a featured speaker at the River & Marine
Industry Annual Seminar, New Orleans, Louisiana, in 1998,
lecturing on “OSHA v. Coast Guard Jurisdiction Over Uninspected
Vessels,” and “Seamen’s Wages,” and an invited speaker at the
Marine Index Bureau Annual Meeting, Washington, D.C., in 1999,
lecturing on “Trends in Admiralty and Maritime Law.”
In 2001, Brandon was offered the opportunity to expand his
career, being appointed General Counsel of what is now
MDiagnostics, Inc., a New Orleans based corporation that
specializes in the development and management of diagnostic
imaging centers, with facilities in Shreveport, Dallas, San
Antonio and Fort Walton Beach. In that position, Brandon handled
the drafting and filing of all corporate documents, contract
negotiations and drafting, as well as responsibility for all
insurance and litigation matters. Brandon also participated in
raising capital for the continued growth of the company.
Also in 2001, Brandon simultaneously created his own
Professional Law Corporation which allowed him to service the
litigation and contractual needs of a select group of clients.
That practice has now culminated in the creation of The Mary Law
Firm, offering a full range of legal services to the Greater New
Orleans community.
Brandon has an extensive litigation history in the United States
District Courts of Louisiana, as well as appearances before the
United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He also
has vast experience in litigation at all levels of State Court
in Louisiana and the District Courts of Texas. Brandon is
admitted to practice in Louisiana and Texas, and is a member of
the Louisiana and American Bar Associations. He also enjoys
spending his time pursuing a variety of civic and community
